Design Concept and Philosophy

The composition of our design concept put forth “past – present – future” to express a true health wellness by accepting the past, living in the moment and exuding optimism for the future.

Our shop front was used one of the largest tile exporters from one of the oldest countries, “China” The antique-looking Chinese tiles and bricks are incorporated to represent the past. This is enhanced by the use of copper for our signage and the planter boxes to reminisce the past, embrace antiquity and to represent the fire and metal element. The plants represent the wood energy living in the fertile dirt representing the earth element.

The high-tech equipment: 93 massage jets massage spa, model ice bath, red light therapy, infra-red sauna, muscle lifting therapy, HIFU treatment and sand/rock/salt therapy provided to our clients to heal a variety of health conditions, as well as enhancing our facilities with smart toilets, smart showers, smart lockers, smart mirrors, sensor taps and hand sanitizer machines to represent the future.

Walk past the shop front and enter the shop to enjoy modern stylish furniture and experience the benefits of high quality and high-tech equipment. Through our leading-edge treatment, our modern environment, and the antiquity feel by walking pass the shop front, we express that our present life is frequently influenced by 3 relationships. Our past shapes our present which helps us identify who we are and directs where we are heading in the future. The choices we make for ourselves today are often influenced by our past.

Our complete design incorporates the balance of the 5 elements (metal, wood, water, fire, earth) of universal power through our wellness centre for our clients to receive a full health wellness while experiencing physically via our equipment, mentally via our creativity, emotionally via our service, intellectually via our choice, inspirationally via our understanding of health wellness.

The shop internal design uses different themes in each service area to represent the elements. All the internal design is modelled to show forth the Present. Our decor utilises a variety of lighting to express cultural diversity. The treatment rooms use green curtains, green ceiling to symbolise wood element. They are decorated with pictures of landscape, flowers and plants to characterise the wood element’s relationship with landscape and water. Each picture has words or encouragement beautifully written in Chinese calligraphy to inspire people and express Chinese ancient culture.

The ceiling of the sand, rock and salt therapy room is covered with rock wallpaper to expand the space and grey painted walls that are decorated with indigenous art, adding to the heated sand, rock and salt in the equipment, to represent the essential earth element energy to human body health and express indigenous land culture.

The sauna room emanates the energy of “fire”- warm colour paint to represent the fire element, together with the sauna’s heat (“fire”) energy. The white sauna presents purification in fire, while the crystal bead windows are like rising flames of crystal energy via the fire element.

Bathrooms have a painted blue ceiling to represent the sky and ocean and green tiles to represent grass on the ground. The 4 varied shower room tiles represent the 4 seasons, expressing the “water” element’s relationship from sky to ground during seasonal changes.

In the main area, the combination of 5 elements creates an offsetting “flow” to the generating cycle that keeps things in balance: the colour of the ceiling, concrete epoxy floor, the deck and the brick wall on the right side represent the earth which control the water element (spa), water element controls the decorative spa and fire lights, fire controls metal furniture and decoration, metal controls green furniture and forest wall paper (wood energy).WELLNESS + SENSES : MULTISENSORY INTEGRATION

Advances in neuroscience and neurasthenics confirm that, when combined, the senses elevate our human experience. Nature is multisensory and it turns out, so are we. The senses have always been present in wellness. In fact, we subconsciously associate many wellness activities with one sense or another... spa, massage and treatments are touch, wellness music is sound, chromotherapy & pictures are colour, essential oil is smell, body experience is body taste and thermal is temperature. This siloed approach is quickly changing in remarkable ways.

Mandala is accessing multiple senses simultaneously to better support wellbeing outcomes, amplify wellness experience and influence behavioural change and using multiple sensory cues in a harmonious way to deepen meditation.

Mandala Health Wellness is using multisensory integration as an approach to deepen and amplify felt experiences. We curated a multisensory environment allowing visitors to stimulate and elevate all five senses and imagination in aquatic and stunning surroundings, and advanced equipment; also sharpening Six Senses to create synesthetic body experiences, enabling guests to “taste” colour and temperature, surrounded in the five elements of the universe where harmonious and wisdom begun.

The 31 pictures on our wall along the path are riddles for our visitors to figure out what they mean to them and to stimulate insights and question: What is our life, what is health wellness and what is the universal connection and what do we truly want for our life?
